KIDS WITH CALLINGS
EQUIPPING CHILDREN FOR CHRIST
We see numerous examples of how children were called, birthed, and created as holy vessels for heavenly purposes at young ages. Josiah, age 8, became a king. David, a young shepherd boy who believed His Lord as Deliverer slew a giant while still unable to physically fit in a man's suit of armor and without typical military training, only having the training of sheep herder. David, anointed to be king, waited 20 years under Saul's leadership and assiting him before fully operating as king. Prophet Jeremiah states, "say not I am too young...(Jeremiah 1:1-10)" Mary, a young Jewish girl, was told of an angel that she was the one chosen to carry the infant Jesus. Jesus, a king and deliverer, was gazed upon by the eyes of Simeon, an old man in awe at the infant long promised to be the Messiah from generations past.
So children have a prominent place in the "agenda" of the Lord. We are told
"children are a heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward(Psalm 127:3-5)." Parents are instructed to not dishearten their children but to train, admonish and teach them in the Lord so they will not depart from it (
Proverbs 22:6). "
Here at Call to Holiness International Ministry we believe equipping the young in their callings and giftings is importnat.
Monthly KIDS WITH A CALLING has a special meeting for children to talk, discuss, and be equipped in basic foundations for their callings. As a group they will learn through activities, songs, games, and exercises what it means to talk to others about Jesus, to live a life that pleases God, and to be used of God even as a young boy or girl to His glory. They learn how voluntary submission to Godly biblical authority of parents, teachers, ministers, and other adults helps equip them for outreach. Most of all, they realize that the most fun, cool, exciting thing is living the life that Jesus Christ meant for us.
