AMERICA CALL TO HOLINESS
SUMTER, SC: "WATCHMAN, ARISE & PRAY"
June 2009 marked the beginning of revival movement in Sumter, South Carolina as the Lord God through His precious Holy Spirit called this small town and the state of South Carolina back to the spiritual foundation of warring against strongholds through prayer.
The Lord gave a vision of a high-walled community with stone walls and a closed gate. On top of the closed gate was an image of a crown but not a glorious crown as the crown of life promised to the Lord's church but a tainted, twisted looking crown. Then He drew our attention to a tall, strong man guarding the gate and outside the wall. The man was armored but with ineffective, unactivated armor. He was very tall but stood staring straight, immovable, passive, and motionless. Vehicles of many kinds (representing ministries) came to the driveway trying to break the walls of stone and get past the bars of iron and the strong man of religion but to no avail. Many had come and gone over the years.
Then through prayer the Lord revealed the issue. God's holy warfare spirit had always been over Sumter for the people to war through prayere and trevail for God's purposes in America but that spirit lied dormant for over 200 years. With the death of General Thomas Sumter, whom the city was name after, came the death of a determined man of faith who was the last Revolutionary War general surviving. For years religion tried to birth through rituals, tradition and man-made attempts something that would change the area but still the armored strong man was unmoved. The Lord then reminded His people that the manner in which they act must be in accordance with Ephesians 6:12- "puttting on the full armor of God to quench" ( religion, denominationaism) and "forms and fashions of godliness which deny the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:5)."
The Lord spoke that this ministry was sent to Sumter,South Carolina to "activate the armor." He reminded us of what He has taught year ago about "Why Revival Tarries." In so doing, He specifically highlighted the spirit of religion (leaven, air) in this region and prayerlessness (or improperly placed religous prayers). Ezekiel 33: 1-6 warns that when the watchmen sleeps the city is overtaken. The Lord's Spirit cries out for His remnant bride, His church, in Sumter, South Carolina and the entire state of South Carolina to return to warfare prayer that will spark revival in the nation.
"If my people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and will turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and will heal their land."
(2 Chronicles 7:14)
